My post on http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=367884 says it all. I think adding a gentoo framework for recomping kernel-specific stuff would be a good idea. Imagine, having a RECOMPILE_AFTER_KERNEL="1" in the ebuild, to state that the package should be recompiled every time the kernel is recompilerd. then, when you recompile a kernel, # kerneldeps-recompile and hop, voilĂ ! Has anyone already thought about this ? Is it interesting enough to file a bug report - wish - about that ? sam I got one reply, for the moment : It's got my vote. A "emerge postkernel" command that re-emerges all packages with said variable would be a very handy thing. |
