Description
Arfrever Frehtes Taifersar Arahesis (RETIRED)
![]() I was waiting for 1.0.17 release candidate 2, as several important fixes were missed. (This was a result of the migration from the ALSA repository from Mercurial/HG to git, in case it interests you) Sorry, awaiting RC3 due to faulty tarball; the directory name for alsa-lib is 1.0.7rc2 instead of 1.0.17rc2 as it should be. Also, I am seeing an SHM-related build failure: /bin/sh ../../libtool --mode=compile x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -O2 -march=core2 -pipe -c -o pcm_direct.lo `test -f 'pcm_direct.c' || echo './'`pcm_direct.c /bin/sh ../../libtool --mode=compile x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -O2 -march=core2 -pipe -c -o pcm_dmix.lo `test -f 'pcm_dmix.c' || echo './'`pcm_dmix.c x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -O2 -march=core2 -pipe -c pcm_direct.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/pcm_direct.o x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -O2 -march=core2 -pipe -c pcm_dmix.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/pcm_dmix.o pcm_dmix.c: In function 'shm_sum_create_or_connect': pcm_dmix.c:61: error: invalid storage class for function 'shm_sum_discard' pcm_dmix.c: At top level: pcm_dmix.c:91: error: static declaration of 'shm_sum_discard' follows non-static declaration pcm_dmix.c:84: error: previous implicit declaration of 'shm_sum_discard' was here make[2]: *** [pcm_dmix.lo] Error 1 make[2]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -O2 -march=core2 -pipe -c pcm_direct.c -o pcm_direct.o >/dev/null 2>&1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.17_rc2/work/alsa-lib-1.0.7rc2/src/pcm' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.17_rc2/work/alsa-lib-1.0.7rc2/src' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 Not committing what I have as the dependencies are all interlinked. Please reopen the bug once RC3 is out. Alsa project released RC3 (I cannot reopen the bug). It's a driver only release, but they fixed the alsa-lib rc2 tarball. Currently I have no sound under 2.6.26-rc8, is it because I need this alsa-lib for 2.6.26, or I should search elsewhere? media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.17 was released on 2008-07-14. media-libs/alsa-oss-1.0.17 was released on 2008-07-14. media-plugins/alsa-plugins-1.0.17 was released on 2008-07-14. media-sound/alsa-headers-1.0.17 was released on 2008-07-14. media-sound/alsa-firmware-1.0.17 was released on 2008-07-14. media-sound/alsa-tools-1.0.17 was released on 2008-07-14. media-sound/alsa-utils-1.0.17 was released on 2008-07-14. *** Bug 232160 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #5) > *** Bug 232160 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** > There were some ebuilds attached here so might want to take a look. alsa-lib-1.0.17.ebuild
I haven't thoroughly tested these, but they all install on my system. I updated all the dependencies appropriately.

alsa-oss-1.0.17.ebuild
There's a little catch about alsa-plugins: ffmpeg with headers in new locations doesn't get detected (and probably the plugin wouldn't compile with it too). (In reply to comment #15) > Created an attachment (id=161797) [edit] > alsa-oss-1.0.17.ebuild > Please don't identical copies of existing ebuilds. Just state that the current ebuilds worked for you. betelgeuse@pena /usr/portage/media-libs/alsa-oss $ diff -u alsa-oss-1.0.15.ebuild attachment.cgi\?id\=161797 betelgeuse@pena /usr/portage/media-libs/alsa-oss $ New ebuilds committed. Thanks chutzpah. Not to complain too much, but unless I'm missing something, alsa-plugins-1.0.17 doesn't go straight to stable, so it blocking more recent versions of ffmpeg doesn't look like a good idea, not after all the work done by video team to move as many packages as possible to the new header layout. (In reply to comment #19) > Not to complain too much, but unless I'm missing something, You are. The old versions don't work with new ffmpeg versions either. I adjusted the deps there too. |
