I saw the message about remebering to use eselect xvmc which I did. It is set to openchrome.

After the change mythtv doesn't work with via-xvmc. I get messages like this one in the frontend log when trying watch tv:

Unable to create XvMC Surface

I have tried to use the xorg-xvmc but that doesn't work either
