Please test one of the latest LiveCDs, preferably a 2.6 testing one. Thanks Please reopen this bug if the problem persists. The bug is still present in livecd-2.6_11-29-2003.iso. I also tried a different Motherboard with the same chipset. A VIA C3M266-L running a P3/1200 shows exactly the same behaviour. So I think the problem has something do with the chipset VIA CLE266, which is the same on both boards. try using the newest stages and livecds: http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu/experimental/x86 If the problem persists, let me know. I tried livecd-2.6_11-29-2003.iso, getting the same result. See http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22482#c2. I'm sorry for my comment #4. Forget it, it's just crap. Now I tried gentoo-2004.0-x86-20040123.iso, but the result is the same. I put two pictures here, showing the first screen just after loading the boot record of the CD: http://www.wolle-hamburg.de/Bugs/gentoo-1.4_rc4/M10000.jpg (VIA Board - Buggy) http://www.wolle-hamburg.de/Bugs/gentoo-1.4_rc4/KT3V-L.jpg (MSI Board - OK) This seems to be a kernel-related issue that we cannot resolve on our side (in fact, bug-reports about that via-mini-itx stuff is following us for a few kernel-versions now). Seeing this as an UPSTREAM-Bug Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this. |
