Description Max Moura Wolosker 2003-06-07 17:52:57 UTC
After emerging kde 3.1.2, accents stopped working. The layout I use is Brazilian
(abnt2), but the same error was find with US English with DeadKeys(us_intl).
Checking the .xsession-errors file I discovered the following line:

kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: /usr/kde/3.1/lib/libkdecore.so.4:
undefined symbol: init_keyboard_layout

which I believe is related to the problem.

Reproducible: Always

I believe you need to specify LC_CTYPE, but that should be an xfree issue, not KDE. In any case, try if that works

Gtk programs are working correctly. Mozilla running on KDE is not but I didn't test the program in Gnome environment.

Please try 3.1.4 and see if it's still a problem. it may be an issue with
some setting in xfree as well. Please reopen if the problem persists.
