The latest version of rbldnsd, 0.996b was released over a year ago on its homepage:

http://www.corpit.ru/mjt/rbldnsd.html

The changes appear to be minor, but it would be nice to remain as up-to-date as possible without resorting to an overlay.

All that the ebuild requires (as far as I can tell) is replacement of the old version string, 0.996a, with the new one, 0.996b. I have successfully installed such a modified ebuild on amd64.
