What sound system do you use, then? What if you tested with mplayer, something like this perhaps: # mplayer -ao alsa (In reply to comment #3) > You appear to have USE="alsa esd oss". What sound system do you use, then? What > if you tested with mplayer, something like this perhaps: > # mplayer -ao alsa I am sorry that i am in japan now, because of the time differences, it is 13 , and I am working in company. so i will provide the detail information when a go home, and now i will provide more information to my best ability. 1. USE="alsa esd oss". the use flags, are there some strange? the use flags is set by gentoo's "desktop" profile, should i delete the "esd" and "oss"? 2. my "sound system" means sound card? the driver? or something? my sound card is already listed by lspci before. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ 00:14.5 Multimedia audio controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP150 AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 01) 00:14.6 Modem: ATI Technologies Inc IXP AC'97 Modem (rev 01) _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ my driver is the kernel's alsa modules, something looks wrong perhaps because I have emerged the alsa-driver package, should I unemerge alsa-driver. I now install alsa-driver because I tried all ways I can thought of. so sorry to can not provide primitive information.. 3. # mplayer -ao alsa I did not use this comand, but i tried kde's music player. the result is the same. I will try the command when I go home. I tried the command: mplayer -ao alsa 1.mp3 I can not hear anything.... So you emerged the alsa driver package and enabled alsa in the kernel? It only works one way or the other but not both. Also remove OSS from your use flags, as you want to use the alsa sound system? I emerge --unmerge alsa-driver, but I cant hear anything.. Sorry. After days of probing and checking, no bug has emerged. I put it down to a software configuration error or perhaps a hardware error. If it really is sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.24-r8 that is at fault, you should be able to at least track down which earlier or later versions of gentoo-sources do not exhibit the alleged bug. When you do, please reopen this bug. |
