What does this have to do with the release?
Comment 2 Dolores 2008-05-18 02:37:31 UTC
How did you know it is pulled in by open office?
I didn't see it, however, I met the same problem here.

I have only app-office/openoffice-bin-2.4.0
Comment 3 Juergen Rose 2008-05-18 06:03:21 UTC
"emerge -pvuDt world' shows it for me. But I assume that there are other packages, which pull in sys-libs/db too.
Comment 4 Juergen Rose 2008-05-18 06:08:46 UTC
I thought that in bug 219069 is described, that openldap doesn't like db 4.6.

db 4.6 is keyworded testing, so it does not have remotely anything to do with our snapshot releases.

Carlo why did you assign this to the openoffice herd? I don't see how this has anything at all to do with OpenOffice.org besides us depending on berkdb like tons of other packages too.

Hm, don't know what rode me, Andreas. You're right of course. Sorry for the noise.
Comment 8 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-18 22:53:55 UTC
We're ensuring compatibility of dependencies for the stable tree, not for testing. Running testing, you'll stumble about conflicting dependencies every now and then. This is the normal case and not a bug.

Your choices in this case are not to do a --deep update or to mask =sys-libs/db-4.6* locally
