After I included gnome in my make.conf file, I did a 
emerge --update --deep --newuse world


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Add gnome to make.conf
2.emerge --update --deep --newuse world
3.

Please also run revdep-rebuild if necessary. this is most probably a left-over from your expat migration so closing duplicate of the relevant bug.
