Unfortunately, the driver wasn't stable as of release, so it'll have to wait until our next release to be resolved. No more livecds, so closing this bug. |
When booting the 2008.0 LiveDVD on an AMD64 machine with 780G chipset and Radeon HD 3200 IGP (motherboard ASUS M3A78-EMH HDMI), GDM/X11 won't start. Hardware detection configures it to use 'ati' driver which does not support Radeon HD 3200 ('No devices found'). Instead radeonhd driver (or fglrx) should be used, or vesa as a safe fallback. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Boot LiveDVD on machine with Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics 2.Wait for GDM to start Actual Results: X11 startup fails. "No devices found" error. Expected Results: GUI startup.
