When emerging net-wireless/wireless-tools-29, I get a (non-fatal) error:

/var/tmp/portage/net-wireless/wireless-tools-29/temp/environment: line 773: epatch: command not found

because the ebuild does not inherit eutils.

And so the --as-needed fix doesn't get patched in. Reassigning to wireless-tools maintainers

This was fixed already
