The stage3 directory on the ppc universal cd is at:

/mnt/cdrom/stages/ppc*/stage3-<subarch>-2008.0.tar.bz2

not

/mnt/cdrom/stages/stage3-<subarch>-2008.0.tar.bz2

where * = 32 or 64

Fixed in CVS.

Releng: would it be possible to make this CD consistent with all our other arches, and just place the available tarballs into a single directory in stages/? The PPC subdirectories make for some interesting handbook kludges--I mean, changes. :)

The stages should *not* be in a subdirectory.  They should all be in stages.

This is fixed in both the handbook tarballs on the PPC media and in the online handbooks; they point to the correct location in /mnt/cdrom/stages/.
