new ebuild with intltoolize
renamed ebuild for 2.5.3

Description Caleb Cushing 2008-05-06 05:16:38 UTC
it should remain hardmasked as this is still a development version

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Jan Kundrát (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-06 07:18:54 UTC
Dear Caleb, if this is meant as a bump request for gimp, well, the gimp homepage doesn't even mention that the 2.5 has been released.

If this is, on the other hand, meant to suggest we remove the -9999 ebuild to -2.5, this is not going to happen.

2.5.2 has been released.
Comment 3 Caleb Cushing 2008-08-09 01:25:11 UTC
I was going to ignore it but since someone else seems interested. the 2.5.x releases are development releases much like kde4.0 was for kde. if you start maintaining ebuilds for it, it shouldn't be hard to get 2.6 out the day it's ready. But they should remain hard masked imho, and yes even when I opened this bug it was on the home page.

still buggy media-gfx/gimp-2.5.2.ebuild

This is still buggy, configure will fail when trying to find intltool (which is installed):

checking for intltool >= 0.35.5... awk: cmd. line:1: fatal: cannot open file `./intltool-update.in' for reading (No such file or directory)
awk: cmd. line:1: fatal: cannot open file `./intltool-update.in' for reading (No such file or directory)
 found
./configure: line 23810: test: : integer expression expected
configure: error: Your intltool is too old. You need intltool 0.35.5 or later.

Interestingly, configure works when I run it as a user from the vanilla gimp-2.5.2 tarball.

The ebuild itself is a merger of the one from gimp-2.4.6, gimp-9999, and the new dependencies (such as gegl and babl). Please modify as you see apt.

new ebuild with intltoolize

I just added the 'intltoolize' after 'eautoreconf', but I'd still appreciate if someone (Hanno maybe?) could have a look at this and see if those two commands are necessary at all? At least the problem with the previous ebuild is gone now. (Thanks to http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=232976#c5 and bugzilla's search function)

renamed ebuild for 2.5.3

Bump to 2.5.3.
Comment 7 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-25 07:22:45 UTC
Shouldn't the ebuild start using gvfs instead of gnome-vfs now that gvfs is stable everywhere?
Comment 8 quazgar 2008-09-17 11:54:35 UTC
The next development release, gimp-2.5.4, is out. Renaming the 2.5.3 ebuild worked for me, on amd64.
