I entered an invalid IP address (manual network setup, one of the final steps in console-based installer). I think it contained something like this. 192..xx.xx.xx or a 4-digit component.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. console-based setup
2. pretty much at end of process, enter syntactically invalid IP address in manual network setup
3.

Actual Results:  
python script bails out, prints error message on console.

Expected Results:  
prompt for correction

I'm going to guess that you tried this with 2008.0 Beta 2, correct?

no, in fact i used the Beta 1 but was late in reporting the problem. Sorry about that.

OK, can you try out Beta 2 and adjust the version if it is still broken there?

I suspect it will be, but would prefer verify it, rather than assume.

i know that my description is not very good (should have reported it right then
when it happened). I seem to remember that i used 'BACKSPACE' to correct my
typo just before the script terminated with an error message. Apologies again
for the bad report style, just don't want this to go unnoticed...

Will give beta 2 a go as soon as i find the time (my beta 1 install is now up and running in a vmware, btw. At work, I'm forced to use Windows so all i can do is install my favourite Linux in vmware)
