Description Lance Albertson 2008-04-30 15:13:58 UTC
I noticed yesterday that argonath.las.ic.unicamp.br (143.106.60.116) is syncing every minute. I assume the admin fat fingers a crontab entry. I ended up blocking the IP in the meantime so he's not getting any updates. Can you please contact the administrator for that mirror and have him fix the crontab?

Thanks-

Reproducible: Always

Oh, just to clarify, they're syncing too often to masterdistfiles.gentoo.org (aka, rsync.osuosl.org).

Adding the mirror administrator to the bug. :) Thanks for the heads up, Lance!

Do you think it'd be possible for you to fix your mirror scripts please, Arthur? We'll liaise with OSUOSL to get you unblocked once they're back to normal.

I'm so sorry for this... :(

Checking my logs, on april 22 one of my admins downgraded rsync from 3.0.0-r2 to 2.6.9-r5 and since then I've got this messages:

...
rsync: failed to set times on "/l/pub/gentoo/releases/x86/current": Function not implemented (38)
rsync: failed to set times on "/l/pub/gentoo/snapshots/portage-latest.tar.bz2": Function not implemented (38)
...

I'll figure out what's wrong... and, for now, I removed the crontab entry of this rsync.

Thanks.

Now its ok.

BTW, the blocking is not working... We've been rsyncing normally.

Thanks.

That's probably because we rebooted the machine last week at one point and thus lost the temporary block I had put into place. Thanks for fixing this!

Can we close this one?
Comment 7 Lance Albertson 2008-05-28 15:55:11 UTC
