It looks like a few lines were left out of the ebuild (this is for mplayer-0.90_rc5)
a patch is attached

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. add aalib to your USE
2. emerge mplayer
3. mplayer -vo aa file.mpg

Actual Results:  
codec not found

Expected Results:  
well, mplayer should be compiled with aalib, if you have aalib in your USE vars
