Description Xavier 2002-04-28 16:04:18 UTC
The Audiogalaxy Satellite is a small program you can run on your computer that
allows you to share music.(www.audiogalaxy.com)
I suggest media-sound but I don't know if it's the best place.

Tested correctly in my computer.
I address a directory deletion issue between emerges, with the inclusion of
a .keep file (I see this in other places in gentoo) but I don't know if this
is the correct way ....
Anyway feel free to evaluate if the ebuild can be incorporate in portage.

Thanks a lot for sharing Gentoo !!!

We have an open source audiogalaxy client in portage already, called OpenAG.
AGQT is a query tool for audio galaxy, in case you were interested...

Xavier,

The problem with this ebuild is the licensing at audiogalaxy.com
If you read through the license agreement, you'll see that we are not allowed to
fetch it. I had created an ebuild for this a looong time ago, see bug #795 for
details. There was also a thread on the mailing lists at the time about
licensing issues. Anyway, because of the whole dynamic fetching thing (due to
changes in portage, that ebuild has to be tweaked), I decided just to make an
ebuild for OpenAG, which is 100% compatible with the satellite. Please check it
out and lemme know.

Thanks

ok, no problem, I check the OpenAG ebuild.
I'm not aware of an Opensource Audiogalaxy client, but IMHO it's the best
option to use it.

Thanks
