Hi, I need qt 4.4 for a project that I am working on so I decided to unmask and emerge it from portage. However right at the begging of the build I get an error.

The link I attached talks about it being a mismatch between binutils and gcc versions, so I tried to unmask and upgrade to gcc 4.3.0. That did not work, so I removed it and tried to downgrade binutils to 2.17, but the built of that failed too. Any suggestions?

I should also mention that I got qt4.4_rc1 compiled on my laptop running Ubuntu Hardy Heron that has gcc-4.2.3 and binutils-2.18.1, so I am not sure if a version mismatch is the problem.

Hi Karol, please re-open if you followed the instructions at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gcc-upgrading.xml when you upgraded your compiler.
