Bug 219351 – app-office/openoffice-2.4.0 (2.4.0.8) - spreadsheet "Grid Lines" now showing

After upgrading to OO-2.4 Build 2.4.0.8 " row / columns Grid Lines" in spreadsheet disappeared; only on Gentoo compiled version - in binary version they are showing OK.
The Grid Lines disappear only when one selects "background color" in a sheet (any color). When background is white they are showing OK. 

Trying to turn them ON/OFF via:
Tool --> Options --> OpenOffice.org.calc --> View --> Grid Lines
Doesn't work.

Confirmed in 'app-office/openoffice-2.4.1'.
Have not tried the binary version of 2.4.1.

The binary version works OK; the lines are showing OK regardless of the background color.
This bug only effects Gengoo compiled OO-version.

Are you sure this is actually a bug and not intentional?

I guess if you still don't see this in openoffice-bin 3.0 this would be a case of filing a bug in:

https://bugzilla.novell.com/index.cgi

for advice, where the ooo-build-bugs are handled atm. (and the respective upstream developers should be available)
