Description Dror Haitin 2008-04-19 04:44:22 UTC
I am guessing this has been solved in 2008beta, downloading it.
I belive I'm experiencing the same problem as various ATi users.
Will latest Nvidia AMD64 drivers do the trick? If so, how do I mount It's package on the Gentoo2007 livecd? (pre-GUI, as it fails out)
Maybe compiling new xorg-x11 sources with the livecd?
Or maybe this is just a solvable config issue?

Thanks, Dror.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot Gentoo.LiveCD.2007.64bit
2. 'boot: gentoo'
3. starting......................... xorg-x11 error

Actual Results:
lands me to liveCD console after error message

Expected Results:
Load the complete GUI

PC:
Athlon 6000+ X2 64bit
GForce8800 GTS
Nforce 570 ultra
2GB DDR800

You could try installing Gentoo Linux using the Gentoo Linux Handbook at
<http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/index.xml>. It's entirely possible to install without the use of X.
