Description Niels Muller Larsen 2008-04-16 13:54:08 UTC
I am in the process of a total reinstallation (except /home) so it is extremely critical to me that most of my graphical applications run.
media-libs/jpeg-6b-r8 seems to be a central bottleneck and it does not compile.
Consequently programs like Firefox and Thunderbird, will not be built.
media-libs/jpeg-6b-r8 seem to be a prerequisite for anything.
Consequently emerge x11-libs/gtk+-2.12.8 also fails

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge media-libs/jpeg-6b-r8
2.
3.

Actual Results:
 * ERROR: media-libs/jpeg-6b-r8 failed.
 * Call stack:
 *               ebuild.sh, line   49:  Called src_compile
 * environment, line 2321: Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 *       emake || die "make failed";
 *  The die message:
 *   make failed

Expected Results:
succesfull build

Basically,
try
emerge -1 libtool
Comment 3 RĂ©mi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-16 14:10:10 UTC
Please don't modify the Severity field. If reemerging libtool doesn't help, don't hesitate to reopen that bug.

Thanks
