Similar to the gnupg-1.4.9 bug, it's too soon. We normally allow 30 days to pass for bug( report)s to surface. Why are you rushing it now?

Note that I intend to stabilize glib-2.16 soon. If this isn't stable by then, it's simply going to break, so I wholeheartedly agree with the earlier stabilization.

Well we have tracker bugs and blockers to prevent such scenarios? Adding a blocker.

Any changes on this? It is one of the GNOME 2.22 blockers.

Unstable arches are: ~arm ~mips ~s390 ~sh ~x86-fbsd

Sorry, can't test them - no machines with those architectures.
