Here is a different error message that I got after moving ~/.mozilla out of the way: Error: in (function call): procedure or syntax required but got: Error: fatal: looped fatal error xulrunner-bin exited with non-zero status (1) 'emerge --unmerge alsa-oss' (In reply to comment #2) > 'emerge --unmerge alsa-oss' > Nope, I don't have this one and I've never had it. I did find bug 213080 but unfortunately it didn't help me. Other ideas? Try with -r1 (In reply to comment #4) > Try with -r1 > Just tried. Here's the error I got. $ firefox Error: in (function call): procedure or syntax required but got: Error: fatal: looped fatal error $ firefox-bin .... typing bug report ... and here are some more errors $ MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 firefox -ProfileManager Error: in scm_symbol_value: unbound variable: uim-symbol-value-str $ MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 firefox -ProfileManager Error: in scm_symbol_value: unbound variable: uim-symbol-value-str $ MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 firefox Error: in scm_symbol_value: unbound variable: uim-symbol-value-str I'll try with USE=-xulrunner next. Not sure how long ago, the tab key stopped working in the address bar of Firefox. I would type an address but the tab key would not go down and let me pick one of the alternatives. Long story short, I moved away ~/.uim.d and what do you know -- the tab key worked. The funny part is that this also solved the startup problems in this bug. Followup. After trying to fix the same problem (the firefox-3 startup problem) on my laptop I realized that it was a remerge of uim (either that or an update to uim-1.4.2) that fixed it. I was running uim-1.4.1 and was having the same problems. I had tried recompiling uim-1.4.1 to no prevail and decided to try upgrading to uim-1.4.2 which fixed it. Uh, forgot about this bug, still having the issue? |
