Please check your kernel logs for "out of memory" messages (or "oom killer" messages) and try again with "-j1". (In reply to comment #1) > Please check your kernel logs for "out of memory" messages (or "oom killer" > messages) and try again with "-j1". > I checked the kernel messages via dmesg, but I have nothing related to out of memory / oom or any kill commands. im going to rerun it with -j1 in my compile time options I have no "out of memory" messages (or "oom killer" messages). I did test with -j1 and it didn't compile. This error message is bellow, but i don't know if its the same problem reported before. --- "i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++" -ftemplate-depth-128 -O2 -march=prescott -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -finline-functions -Wno-inline -Wall -DBOOST_ALL_NO_LIB=1 -DNDEBUG -I"." -c -o "bin.v2/libs/test/build/gcc-4.3/release/debug-symbols-none/link-static/optimization-none/runtime-link-static/framework.o" "libs/test/src/framework.cpp" ...failed gcc.compile.c++ bin.v2/libs/test/build/gcc-4.3/release/debug-symbols-none/link-static/optimization-none/runtime-link-static/framework.o... ...failed updating 1 target... ...updated 106 targets... * * ERROR: dev-libs/boost-1.34.1-r2 failed. * Call stack: * ebuild.sh, line 49: Called src_compile * environment, line 3034: Called die * The specific snippet of code: * bjam ${NUMJOBS} -q ${OPTIONS} threading=single,multi runtime-link=${linkoption} link=${linkoption} --prefix="${D}/usr" --layout=system || die "building boost failed";
