Tried to install gentoo-sources from latest portage and stage3_2008_beta1 and I get error that genpatches-2.6.24-5.base.tar.bz2 has bad size 69** expected 70** got

probably just a bad download, can you reproduce this after removing the distfile?

Why was release@ CC'd? Which stage is being used has nothing to do with a distfile checksum mismatch.

This has since been fixed in the tree

Hey it was a rsync stuff, I run
emerge rsync
and error gone, some changes were added after I downloaded portage
