Description n.reyrolle 2008-04-01 21:00:01 UTC
After emerge sync, I have done an emerge -uDN world.
It fails when unmerging the old version of texinfo with the following message :

/var/tmp/binpkgs/sys-apps/texinfo-4.8-r5/temp/environment: line 259: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/var/tmp/binpkgs/sys-apps/texinfo-4.8-r5/temp/environment: line 259: ` done <<(get_mounts);'

The message is now shown every time I merge a package.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I can reproduce it every time I merge a new package, or when I try to unmerge the given ebuild.

Reading the offending script, I guess the problem originates from my mount points.
Here is the output of mount command :

gendoudou# mount
/dev/hda2 on / type ext3 (rw,noatime)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec)
udev on /dev type tmpfs (rw,nosuid)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,nosuid, noexec)
/dev/hda5 on /home type ext3 (rw,noatime,user_xattr)
/dev/hdb3 on /var type reiserfs (rw,noatime)
/dev/hdb1 on /mnt/backup type reiserfs (rw,noatime)
shm on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw,noexec,nosuid,devmode=0664,devgid=85)
binfmt_misc on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev)
nfsd on /proc/fs/nfs type nfsd (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev)

rm /var/db/pkg/sys-apps/texinfo-4.8-r5/environment.bz2 is the workaround

I don't understand why this is a duplicate, but OK for the workaround. Thanks.

I suggest you leave some kind of message on the referenced bug, to avoid any new bug report for that problem.

Regards.
