Note that guys handling hal in gentoo are perfectly aware of hal/hal-info releases since they (and a handful of other gentoo devs) are subscribed to HAL mailing list. I am aware of this (since I know that it at least gets updated in the gentopia-overlay) but installing a new machine I noticed hal-info failed test, and as it did not on my other machine (using gentopia) I just wanted to make a hands-up here. But maybe I should had marked this bug as a [FEATURE="test"] bug rather than a [bump] so the real intention is more clear? I'm looking for the >=20080310 because of GSM/CDMA/UMTS support for wireless cards (Sierra wireless AirCard 880 for example). So there are interrest in the new hal-info ;) that really wont work without the newer hal...either way, bumped. |
${summary} I do not actually know if there is any big benefits with newer versions currently, but at least the versions >=20080310 passes 'make check'.
