Periodic-calendar 2.1 doesn't check if you enter January 1st of year 0, which Glib doesn't like.I'm attaching a patch to fix that.

There is another issue: if you change the month from the date selection window( Navigation > Select Date) using the spinbutton, sometimes the day is not correctly updated and shows different values in the calendar and in the day spinbutton. I couldn't find a fix for that.

This bug was fixed in version 2.2. Please see https://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=47415 for the updated sources.

I am not sure how to migrate this fix to Gentoo repositories.
