Reopen... I do have a similar Problem which might be related: since updating to hal-5.10 and removing deprecated ACPI /proc support from 2.6.24-gentoo-r4 (otherwise two batteries are shown) gnome-power-manager did not update the battery status. Thus running out of Battery did not trigger any event (with the obvious consequences). There is a patch upstream which does help though. (See http://dkukawka.blogspot.com/2008/01/hal-sysfs-acpi-batteries-fixed.html) Bug #212859 provides that patch for different reason but resolves that Problem too. I hope this Bug is related otherwise I will open a new Bug. @reporter, are you using sysfs or /proc interface in your kernel config ? you might want to read bug #203306 Had the same thing happening, turned out to be that i was missing ACPI battery support in the kernel (although i was sure i had it selected before...): Power Management Options -> ACPI Support -> Battery I've upgraded now to sys-apps/hal 0.5.11-r1 and the problem seems to have disappeared. I've upgraded sys-apps/hal to version 0.5.11-r1 and the problem seems to have been solved. that was expected. Thanks for reporting. |
