As clearly noted on Bug 131108, this has been fixed in 2.4-r2 and newer. Get yourself a supported version, thanks.

unfortunately some precompiled applications like sybase and others wonts run on glibc >2.3
So PLEASE include the patch to 2.3 ebuild series of glibc !

most likely you're talking about errno/TLS problems rather than glibc >2.3 ... use the emul-linux-286-glibc-errno-compat package
