Ubuntu Linux has a web site called Ubuntu brainstorm http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/ 

It's defined as: "Ubuntu brainstorm provides a simple way for Ubuntu users to give promote ideas for improving the OS. Adding an idea is easy and voting brings the most popular ideas to the attention of the developer community."

Create a Gentoo Brainstorm will be very beneficial to the distro as a whole because it will help the users to propose ideas to enhance Gentoo and at the same time it will help  to involve more the users with their distro. A even more active community will be extremely good for the overall health of Gentoo.

we're not ubuntu.  We have plenty of places for users to provide input, this isn't needed.  nor do we have any source for it.

I am of the opinion that opening a bug is *not* the right way to go about this. First, it is not critical. And second someone who really wants the brainstorm app should code it up and then maybe open a bug to get their work into Gentoo.

Yes is not critical, that's why it's filled as enhancement. The app already exists, so there's no need to code it, just to adapt it to Gentoo. Unless that the original app isn't free software of course.

I think this is actually a pretty good idea. Not everyone has the time to participate and read meandering forum threads. Instead, having issues/ehancements sorted by priority and requests and being able to "thumb up/down" them is much easier than commenting in a forum thread.

I think this is a great idea too, but, just as Andrey Falko says, this site isn't a good way to make it happen.  These people are busy fixing bugs and enhancing existing software; they aren't here to code to suit the whims of the community, however strong.  Please:
