The packages.use is correctly marking them ~x86.
The 1.4.0 ebuilds are there.
emerge -s geda show the 20070526 version as the latest available.

A possible cause is the fact that previous version where versioned by date only which is not correct for comparing version. It should have been -1.3.0-20070526 or something like that.

As these date versionned version where somehow unstable, the simplest solution might be to remove them.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge "=geda-1.4.0"
2. emerge -s geda
3. emerge -up geda

Actual Results:  
2. show 1.4.0 as installed and 20070526 as latest available
3. list geda-20070526 version

Expected Results:  
2. show 1.4.0 as installed and as latest available
3. list no change

Yeah 20070526 > 1.4.0, you'll have to live with that until the snapshots are gone.
