Description Whit Blauvelt 2003-05-14 18:22:10 UTC
emerge -u openoffice-bin from 1.0.1 the current 1.0.2 totally breaks things. Removing
/opt/OpenOffice.org1.0.1 and then unmerging openoffice-bin and re-emerging it gets to:

 * ******************************************************************
 *  To start OpenOffice.org, run:
 *
 *    $ ooffice
 *
 * Also, for individual components, you can use any of:
 *
 * oocalc, oodraw, ooimpress, oomath or oowriter
 *
 * If the fonts appear garbled in the user interface refer to
 *  Bug 8539, or http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/fontguide.html#8
 *
 * ******************************************************************

 * GNU info directory index is up-to-date.

free /usr/bin # oowriter
/usr/bin/oowriter: line 205: /root/.openoffice/1.0.1/soffice: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/oowriter: line 205: exec: /root/.openoffice/1.0.1/soffice: cannot execute: No such file or
directory
free /usr/bin # cd
free ~ # cd .openoffice/
free ~/.openoffice # ls
1.0.1
free ~/.openoffice # rm -r 1.0.1/

-- So this appears to be something about using 1.0.1's user files. So I delete this friggin thing and
still get an error, one that NOT humorously blames the user for trying to fix what's broken if
the user has merely depended on emerge to handle the upgrade:

free ~/.openoffice # oowriter
I'm confused because I can't find OpenOffice's user files.
Your ~/.sversionrc file tells they should be under /root/.openoffice/1.0.1,
but they are not. Please fix the situation manually.
You may want to edit ~/.sversionrc to indicate where is OO
installed, or remove it if you did remove your installation
directory manually (you bad one).

-- Open Office 1.0.1 was fine previously, btw.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

2.
