Ohh, I forgot to mention, after start of OpenOffice I found in ~/.xsession-errors the entry: javaldx failed! Hmm, interesting catch, though can't reproduce it here, my build log contains no segfaults at all... (In reply to comment #2) > Hmm, interesting catch, though can't reproduce it here, my build log contains > no segfaults at all... > That isn't very helpful. What additional information do you need to proceed? (In reply to comment #3) > (In reply to comment #2) > > Hmm, interesting catch, though can't reproduce it here, my build log contains > > no segfaults at all... > > > > That isn't very helpful. What additional information do you need to proceed? > I know that it isn't very helpful, but actually I really don't have to much of an idea how to tackle this. And as I can't reproduce it and it seems to be non-harmful... Still: You might check out openoffice-2.4.0_rc5 which is in portage now, and see if it is fixed, it has some changes to the build stuff. (In reply to comment #4) > Still: You might check out openoffice-2.4.0_rc5 which is in portage now, and > see if it is fixed, it has some changes to the build stuff. > Ok, I will try it. (In reply to comment #5) > (In reply to comment #4) > > Still: You might check out openoffice-2.4.0_rc5 which is in portage now, and > > see if it is fixed, it has some changes to the build stuff. > > > > Ok, I will try it. > Anything new here? The version that you suggested isn't in the portage tree. I sync daily, therefore I think my portage tree is up to date. That's the result: -- Begin wolf-di6400 0(0) 02:33 PM ~ # emerge -av '=openoffice-2.4.0_rc5' These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies | emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=app-office/openoffice-2.4.0_rc5". wolf-di6400 0(0) 02:34 PM ~ # equery list -p openoffice [ Searching for package 'openoffice' in all categories among: ] * installed packages [I--] [ ] app-office/openoffice-2.3.1-r1 (0) * Portage tree (/usr/portage) [-P-] [M~] app-office/openoffice-2.4.0 (0) [-P-] [ ] app-office/openoffice-bin-2.3.1 (0) [-P-] [M~] app-office/openoffice-bin-2.4.0 (0) wolf-di6400 0(0) 02:34 PM ~ # -- End And I downgraded to gcc 4.1.2, because of a compile error during compilation of firefox 2.0.0.13. Openoffice has with gcc 4.1.2 still the same error. Following the latest emerge --info output. Created attachment 149799 [details]

(In reply to comment #9) Ok, then I will test it with version openoffice-2.4.0. (In reply to comment #10) Hello, that's what did: 1) modified /etc/portage/package.keywords: =app-office/openoffice-2.4.0 ~x86 =media-libs/vigra-1.5.0-r1 ~x86 2) emerge -av '=openoffice-2.4.0' (four other packages were emerged). Compiling of OOO is still running but the following messages appeared in /var/log/messages: Apr 15 15:40:21 wolf-di6400 typesconfig[29674]: segfault at 00000000 eip 08048c4b esp bfaaf8d0 error 4 Apr 15 15:40:21 wolf-di6400 typesconfig[29675]: segfault at 00000000 eip 08048c0c esp bfaaf8d0 error 6 The situation hasn't changed. :( (In reply to comment #11) Hello, the build was successful, but with the same segfaults, how earlier mentioned. After start of OOO are the following messages in ~/xsession-errors: --Begin javaldx failed! Window manager warning: Buggy client sent a _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW message with a timestamp of 0 for 0x2a002b9 (Untitled1 ) Window manager warning: meta_window_activate called by a pager with a 0 timestamp; the pager needs to be fixed. --End The emerged packages are: 1. dev-java/rhino-1.5.5-r4 2. dev-java/servletapi-2.3-r3 3. media-libs/vigra-1.5.0-r1 4. dev-db/hsqldb-1.8.0.9 5. app-office/openoffice-2.4.0 I attach the build log of openoffice. Build log - openoffice 2.4.0
Could you please try to re-emerge openoffice-2.4.0? There have been quite some changes since your last try. Also the javaldx-issue is not related (and should be gone now) (In reply to comment #14) Yep, I will do it to night. :-) (In reply to comment #14) OOO build finished, but same behavior as by the other builds. :-( Build time: openoffice: Fri May 30 21:22:10 2008: 1 hour, 25 minutes, 29 seconds Following the output of eix openoffice: Installed versions: 2.4.0(10:45:53 PM 05/30/2008)(binfilter cups dbus firefox gnome gstreamer gtk java ldap mono odk opengl pam -debug -eds -elibc_FreeBSD -kde -linguas_af -linguas_ar -linguas_as_IN -linguas_be_BY -linguas_bg -linguas_bn -linguas_br -linguas_bs -linguas_ca -linguas_cs -linguas_cy -linguas_da -linguas_de -linguas_dz -linguas_el -linguas_en -linguas_en_GB -linguas_en_US -linguas_en_ZA -linguas_eo -linguas_es -linguas_et -linguas_fa -linguas_fi -linguas_fr -linguas_ga -linguas_gl -linguas_gu_IN -linguas_he -linguas_hi_IN -linguas_hr -linguas_hu -linguas_it -linguas_ja -linguas_km -linguas_ko -linguas_ku -linguas_lt -linguas_lv -linguas_mk -linguas_ml_IN -linguas_mr_IN -linguas_nb -linguas_ne -linguas_nl -linguas_nn -linguas_nr -linguas_ns -linguas_or_IN -linguas_pa_IN -linguas_pl -linguas_pt -linguas_pt_BR -linguas_ru -linguas_rw -linguas_sh -linguas_sk -linguas_sl -linguas_sr -linguas_ss -linguas_st -linguas_sv -linguas_sw_TZ -linguas_ta_IN -linguas_te_IN -linguas_tg -linguas_th -linguas_ti_ER -linguas_tn -linguas_tr -linguas_ts -linguas_uk -linguas_ur_IN -linguas_ve -linguas_vi -linguas_xh -linguas_zh_CN -linguas_zh_TW -linguas_zu -seamonkey -webdav -xulrunner) segfault message in /var/log/messages: May 30 21:26:38 wolf-di6400 typesconfig[5378]: segfault at 00000000 eip 08048bc4 esp bf882ac0 error 4 May 30 21:26:38 wolf-di6400 typesconfig[5379]: segfault at 00000000 eip 08048b80 esp bf882ac0 error 6 Thanks for your time. build log
Same bug here during emerge of openoffice. Aug 31 18:15:20 Gentoo kernel: typesconfig[15420]: segfault at 0 ip 08048bc8 sp bff1dec0 error 4 in typesconfig[8048000+2000] Aug 31 18:15:20 Gentoo kernel: typesconfig[15421]: segfault at 0 ip 08048b84 sp bff1dec0 error 6 in typesconfig[8048000+2000] Sync'd yesterday. Build continued past this point and appears to be successful. I get this error too, emerging openoffice 3.0.0_rc2, the error appears in dmesg. I'm seeing this as well with OO3, just made the connection that it was the openoffice build causing the dmesg log. Possibly AMD64 or gcc 4.3/glibc 2.8 related? I cannot reproduce this, but may help to debug. Install gdb if not already done. Build openoffice until you see the typesconfig segfault (Ctrl + C). Then do the following steps. export ARCH_FLAGS="<CXXFLAGS>" # without -O? flag export LINKFLAGSOPTIMIZE="<LDFLAGS>" # you may need to correct paths here export S="/var/tmp/portage/app-office/openoffice-3.0.1/work/ooo/build/ooo300-m15/" cd $S export LinuxEnvSet="Linux<ARCH>Env.Set.sh" source $S/$LinuxEnvSet export ENABLE_SYMBOLS=TRUE export DISABLE_STRIP=TRUE cd sal/ rm -rf unxlng<TAB> build # wait cd typesconfig/ ../unxlngx6.pro/bin/typesconfig ../unxlngx6.pro/inc/sal/typesizes.hh # check segfault # run gdb gdb ../unxlngx6.pro/bin/typesconfig (gdb) set args ../unxlngx6.pro/inc/sal/typesizes.hh (gdb) run (gdb) bt # check trace / post trace here That's it. Arr, 'unxlngx6.pro' is for amd64 only. For x86 it should be 'unxlngi6.pro'. Still can't reproduce. So anyone else currently seeing this? (In reply to comment #28) > Still can't reproduce. So anyone else currently seeing this? > I still get lots of segfaults while building openoffice (even they don't stopping the build) under amd64 Can't reproduce with libreoffice 3.3.1 (which will replace openoffice), so finally closing, if you have more (and current info) please file a bug against libreoffice. |
