Bug 209594 – dev-lang/php-5.2.5_p20080206 introduces incompatibility with phpmyadmin

After upgrading to php-5.2.5_p20080206 phpmyadmin can not open file:
/localhost/phpmyadmin/index.php it tries to open it with a text editor.
My other virtual-domain on the same server executing php files just fine. I installed eskul (phpmyadmin alternative) and I can access mysql databases just fine.

Downgrading to php-5.2.5-r1 solves the problem, phpmyadmin is working again.
So the phpmyadmin is not fully compatible with the latest php-5.2.5_p20080206

Erm... wipe your browser cache, disable proxies, restart apache. If you need more help, drop in #gentoo-apache or #gentoo-php, this is not a support forum.

So you are absolutely sure this is not a bug? Despite the fact that it happens with php-5.2.5_p20080206 and it don't happen with php-5.2.5-r1?

Maybe this bug should be marked duplicate of Bug #209606?

I really can't tell you whether it should be marked as duplicate since there's no info suggesting any segfaults whatsoever here.

Fair.

I get one of the following everytime I try to run phpmyadmin with php-5.2.5_p20080206:

[Mon Feb 11 11:46:11 2008] [notice] child pid 18006 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

The browser gets only an empty page.

Wouldn't it be nice if the resolution status of this bug were actually changed to "Duplicate of bug #209606"?

Once again, I cannot tell anything about the original *reporter* of this bug, as already stated in Comment #4.
