Bug 209412 – net-ftp/nvemftp-0.1.3 emerges fine, but does not work

I can emerge net-ftp/nvemftp-0.1.3 without any problems.
But when I start it, fill in the fields and click on "connect", nothing happens; I even verified it with tcpdump - nvemftp never does not send a single packet for me.
