Basically I just want to show that X is being accessed and > that maybe really syndaemon is this cause killing X. Remove syndaemon from any runlevel and never put it back. It won't *ever* work from any initscript, it's completely wrong place to start this thing. See Bug 37767. OK, I have removed syndaemon from 'default' runlevel, all in my case. Then made sure no syndaemon process was running, did net.eth0 pause & rc, and still the rc command killed my current xdm session. This got fixed in recent baselayout-1 series, cannot say exact version number. baselayout-2.0.0 does not support the restart argument. :( will have to file another bug report on that.
