These are no hard dependencies, more like suggested dependencies. ding can offer more features if agrep or ispell are installed. The README file says: "{Ding is] A Tk based Front-End to [ae]grep, ispell, dict, ..." I hope this is enough and more info isn't needed? If you disagree, I can add a note to the ebuild. Thanks. Ah, i had missed that "front-end" description line. Sorry. This bug is very old, but I think it should be reopened. ding now simply just does not work if agrep is not available; it is easily fixed when dev-libs/tre is installed, but of course you have to know that agrep is supplied by tre in the first place. I think at least a message explaining this should be printed on merge. |
