Description garret 2008-02-05 06:21:34 UTC
Hi all!
When i tried to install Gentoo from minimal liveCD (rc1), i found a strange bug.
I booted from cd, made some operations (useradd, links e.t.c.) after that i rebooted my comp. under WinXP, my network card didn't work, Win said network cable unplugged. I made some expiriment and found dependencies if i made network down "ifconfig eth0 down" and then reboot under WinXP, network card doesn't work.
I solve this trouble only one method: boot Gentoo? make "ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.1 up", "ping 192.168.1.1" and hard reset after that in Win network work properly. I tried twice.

I have integrated network Marvel Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI in ASUS P5P800 Series motherboard.

Sorry if anybody appeared my bug stupid but i want to help.

Best regards Garret

This is a bug (as confirmed by the vendor) in the windows driver. Upgrade to a newer windows driver and you will be fine.
