I tried to update gnome-panel (as well as other things), with USE=+doc, and got a sandbox violation:

unlink:    /usr/share/xml2po/docbook.pyc
unlink:    /usr/share/xml2po/docbook.pyc

emerge -1 gnome-doc-utils and don't forget to run python updater when updating python.
