Description Jonas Bernoulli 2008-01-26 15:39:37 UTC
i am trying to include app-editor/emacs-cvs in a stage4 but get this error:

>>> Unpacking source...
 * Fetching CVS module emacs into /usr/portage/distfiles/cvs-src ...
 * Running  cvs -q -f -z1 -d ":pserver:anonymous:@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/emacs" login
cvs [login aborted]: cannot get working directory: No such file or directory
 *
 * ERROR: app-editors/emacs-cvs-23.0.60-r1 failed.
 * Call stack:
 *                     ebuild.sh, line 1701:  Called dyn_unpack
 *                     ebuild.sh, line  817:  Called qa_call 'src_unpack'
 *                     ebuild.sh, line   44:  Called src_unpack
 *   emacs-cvs-23.0.60-r1.ebuild, line   64:  Called cvs_src_unpack
 *                    cvs.eclass, line  504:  Called cvs_fetch
 *                    cvs.eclass, line  332:  Called die

i first thought that for some reason like mkdir was somehow disabled inside /usr/portage/distfiles this doesn't work but i was able to compile games-emulation/dosbox-cvs which also uses cvs.eclass.

so maybe this isn't a problem with catalyst after all. i still report this for the catalyst component because i could not reproduce it on my live system. please reassign if you think catalyst can't be the cause of this.

on gentoo-catalyst a similar problem with a different package has been reported before but didn't get a replay: http://www.mail-archive.com/gentoo-catalyst@lists.gentoo.org/msg00442.html

Reproducible: Always
