Description Christopher Ford 2003-05-08 01:32:06 UTC
Before the update I was able to connect to a remote machine in konqueror using
sftp://foo.com. However after updating to the newly released openssh 3.6.1_p2 I
can no longer connect. I recieve an error after maybe a minute goes by. The
title bar says Unexpected SFTP error:2, while the error message says Error
encountered while talking to ssh. I know for a fact that this is a local problem
and not a remote issue. I first upgrade ssh on the remote system and sftp in
konqueror still functioned on my local system. It was only after the update on the
local system that things broke.

Why am I posting in KDE, well sftp works fine from the command line...
I have seen other users who have complained of the same problem on the gentoo
forums.

Can you downgrade and check with konqueror.

Comment 2 Christopher Ford 2003-05-08 01:50:56 UTC
I have downgraded openssh to the original version that I had and it still does not work
correctly.

Just noticed that I have this problem aswell.
Comment 4 Patrick Kursawe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-08 04:04:34 UTC
The debug output says just before opening the password dialog:
kioslave: ####### CRASH ###### pid = 2750 signal = 11
Comment 5 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-08 09:04:28 UTC
I'm confused. All you did was upgrade openssh, and it broke, and upon downgrading to your
original version it still doesn't work? Did you change anything else in the process?

This looks the same as bug 19425. Can you try openssh 3.5_p1-r1 like they did?
