I'm afraid I don't have time to create this package for you, sorry :( Give me a working ebuild and I will be happy to look at it. Otherwise I have to echo Donny's comments - too little time to go writing an ebuild right now. Hi, My apologies, but we simply don't have the free time right now to create ebuilds on request. Have you tried writing an ebuild for this package? On our website, we have a good beginner's guide to writing ebuilds. You can find our documentation here: http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/docs.xml. Come back with an ebuild, and we'll be happy to look at it again for you. Best regards, Stu Created attachment 36390 [details]

Ebuild attached. It should probably also depend on mod_perl Reopening with an updated ebuild Created attachment 36460 [details]

Jesse et al,
First of all, thanks for your comments.
The ebuild now uses webapp.eclass to install the webroot into ${MY_HOSTROOTDIR}. mod_survey itself now lives in /usr/lib.
Please test and let me know if there are any problems. For now, I'll hold off on committing it until the reorganization of net-www.
As an additional feature request, perhaps the data subdir should end up somewhere in the /var hierarchy rather than in the /usr/lib hierarchy? If cumbersome to do through the ebuild and helper scripts, I could consider adding the option in mod_survey proper, that is to say in the installer script. Comments? Ebuild for mod_survey
Changed description. Added ~amd64 and ~sparc (I'm using it on my opteron, and I
can't see why it wouldn't work on any platform supporting mod_perl)

metadata.xml
Tried my luck on copying and modifying metadata skel. Some of the contents are
pure guesses from my side.
A tgz with ebuild and relevant files, as placed under app-sci/mod_survey, is available from <a href="http://gathering.itm.mh.se/~joepal/modsurvey-3.2.0_rc1-ebuild.tgz">http://gathering.itm.mh.se/~joepal/modsurvey-3.2.0_rc1-ebuild.tgz</a>. Joel, Thanks for modifying the description. Changelog, manifest, digest, and metadata will be generated at commit time, so no need to post them here. As regards arch keywords---as per our policy, they can be added only by our arch maintainers. Once the ebuild is in portage, you can file a separate bug and ask for a new arch to be added to the ebuild. Created attachment 37648 [details]
mod_survey-3.2.0.ebuild
Version bump, 3.2.0 stable was released yesterday. Also changed SRC_URI.
In CVS. Joel, if you want it to be ~amd64 and ~sparc, please file separate bugs. |
