HTTP access is enabled so mirror access via portage now functions correctly. The address is http://gentoo.seren.com/gentoo/ Mirror should be ready for prime time. just noticed I didn't put in _how_ it was available via rsync -- rsync://gentoo.seren.com/gentoo your HTTP link seems to be b0rked. I get a 403 forbidden on it. It was borked -- it is fine now. just a note: I only had indexing turned off on directories (which I may turn off on distfiles and gentoo-sources again), setting http://gentoo.seren.com/gentoo as a mirror in make.conf worked fine. I've turned indexing on for the time being -- there was nothing in the mirror setup that specified what to do one way or another. =) I figured if it provided sources via http all was well. =) Indexing is important for releases/experimental, but not for distfiles. We should probably note that in the doc.. Kurt? I have sent instructions on accessing our private distfiles mirror to dstephans@seren.com. please update your rsync scripts to point to the new server and post here when you've done so. Additionally, I added a FAQ to the source mirrors doc discussing Directory Indexing. rsync script has been modified and is now syncing against the master for sources. Sorry for the delay. We had some other mirror-related issues precluding us from working on new mirrors. I'll be announcing this mirror in next week's Gentoo Weekly Newsletter -- would you like to include a brief (1 para) description of Seren Innovations for this article? If so, please email me at klieber@gentoo.org. Also, if possible, could you update your rsync scripts to sync every 4 hours, starting at 00:00 UTC time? Many thanks. We're currently syncing as follows: 0 3,7,11,15,19,23 * * * root /export/gentoo/rsync/rsync-gentoo-source.sh This is central time, I thought I matched up to UTC correctly but if your logs show differently let me know the offset I'm off by. =) I'll email you a bit about Seren Innovations today. this bug was resolved some time ago. just forgot to close out the bug itself. |
