Description Robert T Childers 2008-01-02 04:14:54 UTC
While reading news items with the eselect-news module instead of moving the news items from unread to read it purges them.

I am submiting the bug report here because at paludis.pioto.org the only thing that their bug tracker is set up for is paludis. Please forward this upstream. I believe the problem is in the program itself not in the way it has been installed on gentoo. But I could be wrong.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Have news show up.
2.execute command eselect news read new
3.At this point it displays the news items but they are purged instead of being moved to the read location

Actual Results:
news items were displayed then purged

Expected Results:
news items should have been displayed but still readable as read items instead of being purged.

Is this still an issue with "eselect news-tng" of eselect-1.1*?
Comment 2 Robert T Childers 2009-08-14 23:15:01 UTC
As of eselect 1.1 and eselect-news 20080320 it doesn't appear to be a problem anymore.
Comment 3 Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2009-10-12 08:28:36 UTC
eselect-news is going away (see bug 288560), so nothing to fix here.
