Mark Loeser (RETIRED)
![]() Nice of you to talk to me first about it. Commits to the tree aren't everything. (In reply to comment #1) > Commits to the tree aren't everything. > Surely not. But seeing Gentoo's developer base disintegrating by heavy use of overlays aka invisible work being done, which may or may not (or just too late, as users moved to another distro in between) reach our repository and forgotten after a while is disheartening, you know. Please make sure you keep in touch with the repository hat can be measured as activity by others, so you can be distinguished from rotten accounts, representing a security risk. (In reply to comment #1) > Nice of you to talk to me first about it. Commits to the tree aren't > everything. > Please don't take this personally. This is merely a way of streamlining the whole process and hopefully I can close this as wontfix. And yea, commits to the tree aren't everything, but surely you can understand why random commits every now and again would lead me to believe you are not active. After a few days thinking about this, one thing i'd like to state, is that I'm not taking it personally. I would like to point out that the 2 year old bug has already be closed once and then re-opened. I doubt I'll commit to the tree before the next release of exim, which should be 4.69 and is almost ready. Before I retire/get retired, I'd like to have cleared up all my outstanding exim bugs, This last year has been a rush of many things from getting married to changing jobs and doing too much travelling and overtime. Whether or not you wish to close this as wontfix is up to you, but I would like to ask for a few weeks/month to get my little corner in order before any further action is taken. Personally i'm not in favour of overlays, they don't add much to the project and if anything detract from it, even though I've been using them to try and get mythtv to run on my PS3. I have decided that I will be retiring at the end of Feb. I have no real desire to keep going. Once i've cleared up the outstanding bugs, then that will be it. Thanks for sorting things out before leaving. Please reopen this bug when you're ready with everything. - Last (viewable) bugzilla activity: 258182: 2009-02-09 16:45:43 - Last CVS activity: 3.04 months ago at 12:45 on Dec 07, 2008 First mail sent today. Colin resumed his activity in the project after being mailed by undertakers. Retirement closed. Please re-start the retirement process, I'll be handing off what work I have left on exim-4.69-r3 to someone else in the net-mail herd.
