Description Evan Teran 2003-05-01 02:57:37 UTC
It would be very nice if when i have installed phoenix-bin/cvs that it would
satisfy any mozilla dependancies. after installing phoenix-cvs, it is now my
primary browser and i dont need to have mozilla installed except to satisfy
things like evolution.

perhaps have a virtual ebuild that mozilla and phoenix both satisfy (kinda liek
cron is satisfied by both vcron and fcron, etc)

yes, i know that i could always unmerge mozilla or use a nodeps when installing
evolution. but it would be awsome if this was automatic :)

anyway, keep up the good work!

It might be better to install the headers in such a way that they're available as a separate package; net-www/mozilla-headers can easily be put in place to take care of mozilla-based applications.

After some research, I've found that it's not possible to have Firebird satisfy mozilla dependencies for any functional reason; one can't build something like galeon or epiphany against Firebird, for one thing.

Additionally, after conferring with liquidx, evolution now depends on nss/nspr mozilla components, rather than the entirety of mozilla if it is not installed.

This should make all sides happy. ;)
