Bug 201844 – media-gfx/skencil-0.6.18_pre20070421 fails to sed due to various missing files.

The package source is unpacked, then the tcltk patch is successfully.
Then sed fails as  /Pax/Makefile.pre.in ,Filter/Makefile.pre.in ,Sketch/Modules/Makefile.pre.in , Plugins/Objects/Lib/multilinetext/TextEditor.py , Plugins/Objects/Lib/multilinetext/styletext.py and setup.py can't be found.
with No such file and directory error.

sed fails due to missing files.

Expected Results:  
sed to find files, edit them and continue with the compile / emerge.

Changed the tck 8.5 ebuild in my overlay to similar code in tree, it compiles now, but has runtime issues. I assume these issues will be filed in another bug, when tcl 8.5 gets unmasked now that it is stable.
