audacity 1.3.4 patch with the added "alsa" USE flag
And here we go.
This is not something that could be submitted upstream at all; make this a configure option. Make upstream allow this and then it can be added to portage. Created attachment 137269 [details, diff]
Added an ALSA configure option...
Updated eBuild follows.

Patch for the audacity eBuild
That's it. It works fine on my machine...
The cd might be unneccessary though, I have included it to be sure that the file is really updated.

Uhm sorry, I've used the same name for both patches, I hope that causes no inconvenience to you. :) -Ionic Please, please, review it. (In reply to comment #7) > Please, please, review it. The patch is good but as Diego said, it would be better to send this upstream if they have any plan to support optional alsa. If the patch is applied upstream, I'll be very happy to apply it in our ebuilds. looking here (http://www.nabble.com/alsa-%21-to9778290.html#a9778290) i discover what's means portaudio v19 on my media-sound/audacity 1.3.4-r1... Actually my audacity didn't work, can be a media-libs/portaudio missing dependency (i didn't installed portaudio yet)? well if someone has already the answer, i'll be grate for this, anyway i'll try. (on gentoo-forum http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-4644779.html?sid=e9823c307337a579da12a762ffc3ce83, somebody think it's a problem with kernel-2.6.23, i'll try to test this option too) tnx and sorry if it's in someway OT |
