Kindly set your locales to C when reporting bugs... You may want to check for a stray libltdl file hanging around your system. I got this same error with 0.9.7 due to this file un /usr/local which as checked, did not belong to the libtool ebuild. Removing the file and re-emerging libtool and pulseaudio fixed it.
